Privacy Policy

Who we are

Pawse.ai is a product of Catalyst Management LLC, a Florida limited liability company. We build adaptive acoustic environments for dogs. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use Pawse.ai, how we use it, and what controls you have over it.

For the purposes of applicable data protection law, Catalyst Management LLC is the data controller.

Data we collect

We collect data in five ways. You give it to us when you apply for the beta, when you use the support form and when you email us from the app. The Pawse.ai app and the Apple TV receiver also record data as you use them.

Beta applications:

• Your name and email address
• Your dog's name, breed or mix, and the situations you want to test
• The devices you have available (iPhone, Apple TV, iPad)
• Any additional notes you choose to include

Support form:

• Your name and email address
• The topic and description of your report
• App version if provided

Email from the app. The Email us button in the app's settings opens a message to us in your own mail app. We receive it only if you send it. Along with what you write, the message includes these details:

• Your plan (Free or Premium) and your app version
• Your device model and its operating system version
• Whether an Apple TV is paired
• An account reference that lets us find your records

The Pawse.ai app on iPhone and iPad:

• An account identifier. The app creates one the first time you open it. You can use Pawse.ai without signing up.
• If you sign in with Apple, we receive the email address Apple shares with us. This can be a private relay address that Apple creates. Apple may also share your name. Your name stays on your device and is never sent to us.
• Your dog's name, breed, sex, age and any sensitivities you select. Birthdate and microchip number are optional and saved only if you add them.
• Your dog's photo if you add one. The app redraws the photo before upload. Redrawing removes location and camera details.
• Session records. Each one holds the sound environment and its settings, the start and end times, the duration, the time of day, the day of the week and how the session ended.
• The device that played each session and the kind of output it used. That can be the phone speaker, AirPlay, Bluetooth or a wired connection.
• The rating you give after a session and the sound adjustments the app learns from your ratings
• Whether Premium was active during each session
• A record of each device you use with Pawse.ai. It holds the device type and a push notification token for session reminders.
• Crash reports. We receive these only if you have chosen in your device settings to share analytics with app developers. Apple collects them and passes them on to us.

The Apple TV receiver:

• An account identifier for the Apple TV. Pairing links it to your account.
• The pairing code it shows while you pair it
• The time the receiver was last open. Your iPhone uses it to know the Apple TV is ready.
• Its volume calibration
• The sessions it plays and any rating you give on the Apple TV
• A push notification token if the Apple TV provides one

Our hosting and database providers receive your IP address whenever the app or this website connects to them. We do not use it to work out where you are.

Pawse.ai Tag and gateway features, when enabled:

• Tag and gateway identifiers needed to pair, sync, and provide support
• Structured sound-event data such as event category, timestamp, duration, and coarse intensity
• Device status information such as battery level, firmware version, connection state, and sync status
• Bluetooth connection and gateway activity needed to deliver event notifications and complete synchronisation

The Tag is designed to analyse sound locally and report structured events rather than audio recordings. Raw audio is not intended to be stored in your account, transmitted to our servers, or uploaded through the optional home gateway. When the Tag is disconnected from your phone, event data may remain in local device storage until a permitted sync is available.

Tag and gateway features are in development. We will update this policy before collecting Tag data and will explain any material change in the app.

How we use it

We use data to operate and improve Pawse.ai. Specifically:

• To provide the app and its features
• To onboard you and set up your profile
• To create and manage your account
• To generate and adapt acoustic environments for your dog
• To respond to support and bug reports
• To send service messages such as onboarding instructions and updates
• To remind you when a session has been playing for 30 minutes
• To diagnose technical problems and improve the app
• To synchronise Tag event data and show device status, including battery alerts
• To provide optional home monitoring through a paired gateway when you enable it
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not build marketing profiles.

Our legal bases depend on the activity: consent for optional Tag or gateway features; performance of an agreement to provide your account and the app; legitimate interests for security, support, troubleshooting, and product improvement; and legal obligations where applicable. You may withdraw consent for optional features at any time by disabling them or contacting us.

Dog profile data

The app uses your dog's breed, age and session ratings to personalise the sound. It makes these adjustments on your device and saves them to your account. Your Apple TV receiver then plays the same personalised sound.

We store your dog's photo so that the app and your Apple TV receiver can show it. Anyone who has the photo's link can open it. We do not publish the link.

Aggregated and anonymised breed and response data contributes to model improvement across users. No individual dog profile is identifiable in this process.

You can delete your account at any time in the app's settings. Deleting it removes your dog's profile and photo, your session history and your device records straight away. It also removes them from future model training data.

Your feedback

Your session ratings personalise your dog's sound and help us improve Pawse.ai. We use bug reports and support messages to answer you and to fix problems. We do not share any of it beyond the service providers listed below.

Third parties

We share data with a limited number of service providers who help us operate Pawse.ai. Each is bound by data processing agreements and is not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

• Cloud infrastructure and database. Beta applications and app data are stored in Supabase's European region in Ireland. Supabase runs on AWS infrastructure and processes your data under its own privacy policy and data processing agreement.
• Support form delivery. Support submissions are sent via Formspree to our team inbox. Formspree processes your name, email, and message to deliver the submission.
• Beta emails. We use Loops to email beta applicants. Each application is sent to Loops with your name, email address, dog's name and breed, the situations and devices you describe and your notes.
• Payments. Any subscription is purchased and billed through your Apple App Store account. Apple processes your payment under its own privacy policy. We never receive or store your card details, and we see only whether your account holds an active subscription.
• Apple services. Sign in with Apple, push notifications and optional crash reports pass through Apple under its own privacy policy. A session reminder includes your dog's name.
• Website hosting. Our website host receives your IP address and browser details when you open a page.

We do not share data with advertisers or data brokers. Neither the app nor this website uses advertising or tracking tools.

Retention

Information you submit through a signup or waitlist form is retained until you ask us to remove it, or until it is no longer needed for the purpose you provided it.

App account data is kept for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account in the app, we delete your personal data from our database straight away. In every case we remove it within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records.

Support submissions are retained for 12 months. Anonymised aggregate session data may be retained indefinitely for model development purposes.

Tag event data will be retained in your account only for as long as needed to provide the Tag history and related features. Local event data on the Tag will be removed or overwritten according to the device's storage limits and sync settings. You can pause Tag collection, disconnect a Tag or gateway, and request deletion of Tag-derived data by contacting us at hello@pawse.ai. We will publish the final Tag retention period before the feature is enabled.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you have rights over your personal data. These include:

• Access. Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Correction. Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Deletion. Request that we delete your personal data.
• Portability. Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Objection. Object to specific types of processing, including profiling.
• Restriction. Ask us to restrict processing in certain circumstances.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@pawse.ai. We will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls limiting which team members can read personal data, and regular security reviews.

For Tag and gateway features, the final design will link devices to your account, restrict synchronisation to authorised devices, and protect event data during Bluetooth and server communication. The exact security implementation may change during hardware and software development and will be documented before those features are enabled.

No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at hello@pawse.ai.

Children

Pawse.ai is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 16, contact us and we will delete it.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts.

The Pawse.ai app and the Apple TV receiver do not use your device's advertising identifier.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our practices change. For material changes, we will notify you by email before the changes take effect. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
